Yorkshire has remote moors and glorious dales where walkers are thrilled by thundering waterfalls and clear streams. With three National Parks in the area it is easy to see why this is an area of natural beauty. The Yorkshire Dales lie within the Pennines. The North Dales are more remote than the south making them an ideal attraction for hill walkers in the rugged landscape.
York is steeped in thousands of years of history captured in its museums including the Railway museum with over 140,000 visitors a year and the largest medieval gothic cathedral in northern Europe – York Minster. Bustling towns like Scarborough have great shops, nightclubs and theatres while those seeking thrills won't be disappointed; this county has lots of exciting rides. To top it all, many of the beaches in the area like that at Hornsea has recommended status. The Lightwater Valley Theme Park provides lively entertainment or both kids and adults. Leeds and Sheffield are two of the major cities in Yorkshire providing lively nightlife and clubbing scenes and places to enjoy some of the best shopping and state of the art attractions.
Pickering provides ideal transport in the way of the heritage railway enabling visitors to discover North York Moors National Park. There are towering cliffs over the coastal areas but the area provides such variety that it is perfect for a whole host of visitors.
