Nearby National Trust properties include Lanhydrock House and Cotehele or the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery garden is within a few minutes of the Bed and Breakfast.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are also within easy reach and you can enjoy a personal guided tour of The Eden Project with a three night stay at The Old Chapel, tickets and pick up and return to the Bed and Breakfast included. From the East, take the A30 or A38 to Cornwall leaving the A30 at Bodmin following signs for Lostwithiel. In the town, turn left onto the A390 and continue for 3 miles where you will reach West Taphouse. The Old Chapel is the last property on your left.
From the A38 cross Tamar Bridge and continue for 15 miles before reaching Dobwalls. At the traffic lights turn left onto the A390 for St Austell, continue through East Taphouse and Middle Taphouse. The Old Chapel is the first property on the right on entering West Taphouse.

To warmly welcome you to The Old Chapel “Broadoaks” Bed & Breakfast, hosts Michael and Babs have carefully refurbished the 19th Century chapel to provide a comfortable place to stay. With original features and leaded windows the east facing bedrooms look out over the countryside and provide a range of facilities to help you to make the most of your stay.
The three bedrooms include a king size double brass four poster room with en-suite bathroom and shower. This room can also be used as a family suite sleeping up to four. The second bedroom has an oak four poster bed and decorated in a Victorian style with a two-seater sofa and brand new en-suite. The third room can be used as either a double or twin room and is light and airy with two arched stained glass windows and en-suite shower room.
Each room includes a remote controlled TV with Freeview, DVD and CD players with a library to choose from, tea and coffee making facilities with fair-trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate, Cornish spring water, wine glasses and corkscrew, mints and chocolates, fresh flowers, hairdryer, tissues and cotton buds, high quality linen and towels, controllable central heating and electric fans in the summer to keep you cool.
At The Old Chapel B&B you can satisfy your taste buds with a Cornish breakfast using the best local produce. There is a wide choice from the Trencherman's Breakfast to the specialities of Devilled kidneys, smoked haddock, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, vegetarian split and toasted muffins topped with melted cheese, apples and sultanas or field mushroom filled with scrambled eggs to cereal, yoghurt and grapefruit. Fresh toast with Cornish butter, homemade marmalade, Cornish honey and homemade jam with teas and coffee will complete your breakfast.
You can make the most of the good weather outdoors while you relax with a glass of wine before dinner or a coffee in the morning and plan the day ahead.
