Fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout can be enjoyed at the Kirkbean Fishery, golfing at the Championship Links Golf Course at Southerness Golf Club just 10 minutes away and the Solway Links Golf Course popular with all ages.

The Steamboat Inn dates back to the early 19th century and today provide high quality bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation with modern facilities to ensure your stay is comfortable. The Inn provides the perfect base for business and tourist guests close to Dumfries.
The B&B accommodation consists of an en-suite double room and en-suite twin room decorated to a high standard. Centrally heated throughout rooms include remote control colour TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities with snacks. From the double room there are picturesque views over the Solway Firth to the National Nature Reserve and Caerlaverock Castle.
A hearty Scottish Breakfast will set you up for the day ahead and you can also enjoy a delicious lunch and evening meal with a selection of 40 malt whiskies, various beers and wine sold in the bar. There's a friendly atmosphere where you can relax and play pool or darts, make use of the internet access point and keep cosy by the real fire or dine in the lounge or dining room.
The Auld Byre is a self catering cottage available for weekly lets throughout the year and short breaks and will sleep 2 to 4 within a double room and double size sofa bed in the lounge. There are scenic views of Criffel Hill and Solway Firth. There is an open plan lounge/dining room, central heating throughout and fully fitted with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, sandwich mater, vacuum, iron, ironing board and kitchen utensils. Relax in the lounge with the remote controlled colour TV and bedrooms are supplied with linen and towels. On ground floor level, the cottage has wheelchair access to the car park.
Guests will find plenty of parking available in the free car park.
