Staying at Big Sky Lodges you will be ideally situated for many of the Highlands attractions and trips to the West without the problem of staying there with the midges and rain.
Glen Ord Distillery is only 2 miles away where you can watch the whisky making process, try a sample and buy a bottle to take home. The Black Isle Brewery is an 18th century house and uses organic hops and barley in its beer production.
For those with a historical interest, Cawdor Castle is a 600 year old private fortress immortalised by Shakespeare's MacBeth and beautiful mature gardens. Moniack Castle was built in the 16th century at Kirkhill an home to wine making with ingredients grown within the castle grounds.
Families can enjoy a day out to Black Isle Wildlife Park with exotic birds and animals and children can get involved with help feeding and stroking the pets. Visit the Falls of Shin and watch the salmon leap up the waterfalls and the chance of spotting deer and otters. Here you can also find a restaurant, children's play area, mini Harrods and visitors centre.

On the A9 heating north on the duel carriageway, continue past Inverness for around 7 miles till you reach Tore Roundabout. Take the second exit for Dingwall and continue up the hill for a mile and a half till you see the sign for Wallhouse and Drynie Park.
Turn left and continue along the single track road for a mile (but don't go up the Drynie Park north road) and you'll find the lodges half a mile on the left past the double bend.

Lodge Description
For the tranquillity and spectacular Scottish scenery close to Loch Ness and Inverness, Big Sky Lodges is ideally situated within 17 acres of open fields and woodlands. Built from Finnish pine from Lapland, each lodge offers a homely atmosphere, modern facilities and are fully equipped with everything you will need for a successful self catering holiday.
Mountain Lodge and Wildcat Lodge include 2 double en-suite rooms and Rowan Lodge has 1 double and 2 twin rooms each on the ground floor. Light and spacious the lodges are perfect for families with ramp access and parking next to the lodge. The sitting room has a wood burning stove (with free logs) and comfortable furniture so you can sit back and relax within the welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, utensils as well as appliances – fridge, cooker, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle, glasses, pots, pans and cleaning materials. The loft has a comfy leather sofa with TV and children's videos and a bookcase. When the weather is nice you can go out onto the veranda and watch the sun set and dine outdoors.
Piper's Wood, Red Kite and Eagle Lodges are set on 2 floors again sleeping 6 in each in 3 bedrooms. Furnished and decorated to a high standard these lodges contain handmade furniture and original artwork with open plan ground floor. With a wood burning stove you can dine in the dining area while cooking a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen. The ground floor also holds one of the twin rooms and bathroom with bath and shower and upstairs is the en-suite master bedroom (double) with balcony and the second twin room. These lodges include ramp access onto the veranda and plenty of parking space next to the lodge.
Full central heating is provided in each lodge with bed linen (Egyptian cotton) and towels provided. There is a TV, DVD player and CD player in each lodge plus new modern appliances – dishwasher, microwave, fridge, cooker, washing machine as well as crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans. Pets are welcome too (max 2 per lodge excluding Mountain Lodge).
To welcome you to your lodge you will find a complimentary welcome pack including tea, coffee, milk, juice, bread, butter, honey and jam and we hope that you will enjoy your stay.
