You don't have to travel far from The Saunton Sands Hotel to find something of interest while you enjoy your stay with us. Horse riding on the sandy beaches is available for those of any ability or you may be more adventurous and want to try out quad biking at Ilfracombe.
Fishermen can enjoy a sea fishing trip or fishing for salmon and trout along the rivers. Surfers can make the most of the coast with Saunton perfect for beginners and longboarders or Croyde for more experienced surfers. Golfers have a twin course right on the hotel's doorstep: the East Course is one of the worlds Top 100 courses and there are also courses in Barnstaple, Westward Ho and Ilfracombe.
A short stroll from the hotel will take you to The Sands Café Bar where you can get a light lunch and something to quench your thirst and return at night for a bistro meal as you watch the sun set over the horizon.
Lynton and Lynmouth is found to the north of the hotel, a coastal village with a range of cafes, restaurants, craft shops and museums. The whole family can enjoy trips to Watermouth Castle, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Zoo, Quince Honey Farm, Queens Theatre, Dartington Crystal, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way which are all found in North Devon.

For a relaxing break, The Saunton Sands Hotel is the perfect place to stay in North Devon. Each room has been decorated and finished to a high standard offering all our guests a luxurious accommodation with award winning cuisine and personal service.
The spectacular panoramic sea views are hard to be beaten and with many facilities in the hotel you won't need to go far to find something to enjoy. The comfortable rooms include satellite television, comfortable chairs, en-suite bathroom and wireless internet access. The family rooms we have available can accommodate an extra bed or cot if required and consist of double/twin room with a connecting single room.
If you'd prefer a little more luxury, our Deluxe rooms are only suitable for two and contain television, DVD player and sound system, parking space, free newspaper, preferential table in the restaurant, fresh flowers, chocolates and luxurious bath robes.
Dining at The Saunton Sands Hotel is something you won't want to miss. Whether you are having a light lunch, gourmet dinner or looking for a wine to accompany your meal we will be able to help. The main restaurant menu is changed daily so you can enjoy something fresh. Children are well catered for too with their own menu and separate sitting. At the Cocktail Bar you can unwind with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink and the Terrace Lounge will satisfy your appetite with a bite to eat and traditional Devon cream teas. At night you can enjoy live entertainment and music throughout the year with regular performances during holiday periods.
The hotel also has self catering apartments available within the hotel grounds where you can still make use of all the facilities but enjoy the privacy of your own suite. Sleeping between 4 and 8 the apartments are all fully equipped and should provide you with everything you need for a successful self catering holiday.
Facilities at the hotel include: indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, sauna, sun shower, mini gym, hair and beauty salon, gift shop, snooker room, squash court, tennis court, putting green and table tennis.
The hotel is very family friendly whether you'd prefer to have a quiet drink at the bar you can use the baby listening service or we can arrange for a babysitter to look after the children in your hotel room. There is a whole range of activities the kids can enjoy including the hotel swimming pools which includes a separate shallow pool, indoor and outdoor heated pools, a games room, various children's entertainment programmes during the holidays which include face painting and football and for children under 8 there is an OFSTED registered crèche open all week.
