The picturesque village of Ambleside is just a 5 minute walk from Lyndale retaining the charm of the Victorian period with many of the buildings built from Lakeland stone. It is a perfect place to take a walk and explore the countryside.
For the more adventurous, the fells provide an excellent place for walkers and cyclists or you can discover the area by car.
At Lake Windermere you can hire a boat, take a cruise on the Steamer or have a go at the water sports available.
Or if you'd like a more historical trip you can visit the museums and houses, not forgetting Beatrix Potter's Hill Top House where she wrote many of her books. And there are many places to get a bite to eat or relax with a drink.

B&B / Guest House Description
Lyndale Guest House has six bedrooms suitable for many different needs including two double and two family rooms all of which are en-suite and two single rooms with private bathroom. The family rooms include double beds with either one or two single beds. Children and pets are very welcome at Lyndale and we can supply cots and put up beds if they are needed.
Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, colour television and hairdryer with drying facilities available. For the cyclists we have secure overnight cycle storage.
Breakfasts are served in the dining room and we can prepare a Full English breakfast to set you up for the day or we are more than happy to cater for special dietary needs if you let us know in advance. There's a buffet starter including cereals and grapefruits or oranges before the Full English, Vegetarian or Continental breakfasts. If you'd like a packed lunch, we can arrange one for you.
