Bamburgh Castle is well worth a look during your stay, as is Lindisfarne/Holy Island which isn't far away from Composers.
The border towns of Selkirk, Melrose, Hawick and Kelso are excellent places to visit as they are brimming with culture and history.
If something a little more active sounds better for you then take the Coastal Path walk and try your hand at a round of golf or go nature watching with the children.
This area is well signed for cycle paths and walking routes which will take you to villages and attractions which are off the beaten path, meaning less tourists and more 'real' people who are usually more than happy to give you the run down on the area.

Shortbreak Price: £160.00 to £240.00
A non returnable deposit of £50 per week is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance to be paid 6 weeks before the start of your holiday. If you are booking within 28 days of the start of your holiday then the full amount must be paid at the time of booking.

Composers at Woodlands is a quartet of stunning luxury holiday properties situated close to the East coast of Northumberland, only 2 miles away from the border of England and Scotland. Located on the site of an old colliery yard which closed in the 1900's, the area has been completely landscaped and developed in recent years with the result being a unique and very special place for you to spend a few days – or longer!
Each of the four beautiful properties pays its respects to a well known composer (hence the name!); Elgar, Bernstein, Vivaldi and Chopin with each property given its own character by the clever use of décor and fixtures & fittings.
As you enter your choice of property from the main courtyard, you'll be amazed at how stylish and luxurious the interior is. Each property is excellently maintained with tasteful and high quality furniture and fittings; lighting is fabulous thanks to large windows and the beautiful natural light in this area of the country.
Each property sleeps four people in double and twin rooms, with an additional cot and high chair available upon request. Comfortable beds and quality bedroom furniture makes sleeping at Composers a real treat, decorated in beautiful pastel colours you'll certainly wake up refreshed after a good nights sleep.
The large bathroom has both a walk-in shower and a bath so how you get clean is completely up to you; the décor is in neutral tones and the shower enclosed by a pretty glass screen which gives the bathroom a pampering and elegant feel.
The downstairs of each property is open plan with a lounge, dining area and beautifully designed kitchen. The kitchen is fully fitted and has all the mod cons including full sized oven, ceramic hob, combined washing machine and dryer, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and everything else you'd expect to find in such a high quality and modern kitchen. The kitchen is complimented beautifully by the adjacent dining table and chairs which are elegantly designed and well made; your property will also provide you with stylish table and glassware.
The lounge area with its ultra comfortable leather sofas and gorgeous furniture is perfect for spending a cosy night in, and the large patio doors can be left open on balmy nights to let some fresh air in. Through the patio doors you'll find a lovely private terrace complete with stylish wooden furniture – wonderful for evenings outside taking in the beautiful surrounding area with a glass or two of wine.
Don't worry about missing your technology during your stay as each property within Composers has a flat screen TV with over 30 digital channels, DVD recorder, hi-fi radio with CD player and wi-fi internet access. All rooms also have controllable electric heating so you need never be too warm or cold wherever you are in the property. Security within Composers is excellent with each property having a key coded main door and a personal safe for your valuables. You also have a dedicated and very safe place to park your car for the duration of your stay.
Towels, bedding and cleaning materials are provided for your stay and the office located onsite sells a small range of wines, freshly baked bread, fresh eggs and some wonderful local speciality ice creams.
