"Bristol is Famous for its Bristol Blue Glass in fact I can say it is world famous, so a day out to visit the home setting of this delightful Glass is a must.
It was first made in the seventeenth century in Bristol and its stunning colour and quality gained a reputation for beautiful glass.
With modern day, glass has had to change shape and style and only here can you see the beauty made within.

Making your way to the site is easy: by road nearest major road is m32.
Proceed along the road signposted A4 Bath across two roundabouts. At the third roundabout take 1st turning on left. Then 1st right. Here you will see they are the 3rd unit on the left.

By public transport: nearest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. Turn left and continue along Bath road, cross over at the pedestrian crossing by Burger King, walk through Sainsbury's car park by the Black Castle they are directly ahead.

Entrance is totally free.
Open all year round.

Once here you can view the glass and see the different colours made, naturally there is Blue glass, but also Ruby, and Cranberry.
For those able to climb stairs you can go up to the next floor level and here you'll gaze down to the men hard at work glass blowing and engraving. It's very hot with the glass reaching extremely high temperatures.

Below is a shop and for the children a chance to create a paperweight, flyers are freely available for your youngster to draw or write a special message and the firm will make the paperweight to your Childs design. Perhaps you may have a special event you wish to memorialise this is perfect for such.

Cost varies according to what you'd like to purchase but as an idea of what to expect:
Vases depending on size range from £35 - £64
Scent bottles from £26.
Large optic footed Bowl £55.

Now if this is a little beyond your pocket they do have jewellery made from the colourful glass also little ornaments, i.e.: Dolphins from £4 or perhaps Teddy Bears again vary by size and price.

I would like to stress the shop is not massive so keep a close hold of the children as I wouldn't call it child friendly because the glass is laid out on shelves and accidents do happen, but I know the little ones would enjoy making a design for the paperweights.

If you are interested in visiting you can get further information by phone: 0117 9720818
Email:info@bristol-glass.co.uk
Address is: Unit 7, Whitby road, Brislington, Bristol BS4 3QF.

We recently took our friend who lives in Scotland she enjoyed the visit and when we asked what part she enjoyed she simply said “The beautiful Glass”.
