"The Merrymouth Inn is a traditional inn, which not only serves excellent food, but offers quality accommodation as well. The thirteenth century building has more recently been converted to include bed and breakfast accommodation in the converted stable block.
I have visited the Merrymouth Inn about six times, and although it is not cheap, it is the perfect choice for a luxury weekend break. Single, double and family rooms are available, which are very comfortable and equipped with everything you would need for a weekend away.
Whilst staying at the Inn, you will automatically have a table reserved in the restaurant for the evening, where superb meals are served. There is the traditional Merrymouth Chicken, a personal favourite of mine, which consists of chicken in a creamy sauce with onion and bacon. The portions are enormous and there are a wide selection of meals available, including vegetarian and children's meals.
The owners are especially friendly, and are always willing to help in whatever way possible, and they serve a delicious breakfast including cereals, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast.
In the surrounding area there are many things to do, and wonderful scenery. The villages of Burford and Bourton on the Water are only a short drive away, and Oxford is approximately 30 minutes away.
There are also sporting activities which can be undertaken, including horse riding and golf, and Cheltenham racecourse is about 30 minutes away.
The Merrymouth Inn is situated on a main road, so it is easily accessible; however the accommodation is set back from the road so your night's sleep can still be peaceful!"
