"What a weekend. Arrived at the Braich Goch Bunkhouse in Corris (Half way between Machynlleth to the South and Dolgellau tro the North). Stumbled into the Bar - Yes a bar in a Bunkhouse - and sampled the Real Ale on tap. Can't remember the rest of the night but managed to get up by 8am to make breakfast and meet our activity instructor.
A local quarry, with a view of the amazing Cader Idris(Looking forward to that tomorrow) provided our abseiling and climbing session. After lunch it was off to Tywyn for a kayak session on the river Dysinni and then down to the sea. Got trashed in the surf.
The evening was spent cooking our meal in the fully equiped Braich kitchen and then back to sample the real ale and live R&B music in the Bar.
Heads a'thumping we set off for the premier mountain mountain in Mid Wales - Cader Idris. The walk up to the lake wasn't too bad for those with a hangover but the final scramble up to the top certainly cleared our heads. Worth it though as the view was fantastic.
After a quieter but just as social night we went Mountain biking on thre trails aroung Corris and Machynlleth and then sadly off home. I've got to say that the accommodation and activity packages together with the super welcome we received this is the best weekend I've spent in the UK and fairly cheap too."
