"We started our walk at the Slipway by Lymington Yacht Clubs in Bath Road. Her fortified by some New Forest Ice Cream we watched the sea faring folk attempt to launch or bring back their boats. We then set off along the path which opened up to fantastic views of The Solent and The Needles over in the Isle of Wight. We walked through the nature reserve until we reached Salterns Lake. At this point we decided not to walk all the way to Hurst castle but to take a left at the far side of the lake and follow the path to the left to get to the road. A turn to the right brought tus to a brilliant stone flagged pub called The Chequers. We had Sunday roast which was huge and very tasty. We sat inside though they have a lovely garden. After that we strolled back to Lymington the way we cam and wandered down to he Quay, had a nose round the shops before returning to our cottage."
