Great Day Out All Round!Norwich, Norfolk, England East Of EnglandRecommendation added: 23/04/2006 17:13 By: Jak (YSUK rating +99) Jak has been thanked 4 times for this contribution
"Norwich is a great place for a day out with or without spending money. Its big enough to have plenty to do and places to go to shop as well as eat, but not overly large that you can't do it all in a day. There are some really good things to do that don't cost a fortune. You can walk alongside the river and look inside norwich castle which is just a ten minute walk from the centre of the city. The castle itself which somewhat incongruously has a shopping centre built underneath it is a great couple of hours to sepnd in Norwich and is entertaining if you have kids with you as well as an adult activity, and there is the cathedral across the market if your into your history?
The public library is in a new building near the market square which is the size of an aircraft hanger lol. Its free to enter and is well worth a trip. In one of the many converted churches is Inspire. Its a handson science exhibition. There's lots of exhibits where you can press buttons and interact, play and learn. Its a nice size - big enough to keep you interested for a while, but small enough so that you can sit down and have a cup of coffee and still be in the thick of it. Admission prices are £4.50 for adults, £3.90 for Children and theres a £12.00 Family Ticket (2 Adults+2 Kids). Children aged 3 or less are free. There is also a swimming pool near the river, across the road from the Carrow Road Football ground. Never been personally but im told its excellent! There is a great range of shops (John Lewis, Marks and Spencers, Primark and all the other High Street chains you would expect and a few you wouldnt :O)" Was this recommendation useful?
