"Adventure Island is situated in Southend On sea a lively and extremely popular holiday town on the South East Coast. If you travel here either by Train, car or bus there are Brown Tourist sign to direct you towards Adventure Island. If you are travelling via car from the M25 take junction 29 or 30 eastbound towards Southend on Sea.
Back in June 2005 Adventure Island was one of first large Fun Parks in the U.K. to join the Leisurewatch scheme, this is a scheme where by all the staff members are trained to be observant and aware of the safety of children and young people and know what to do if they see behaviour which causes concern. They bear is the symbol for this and is displayed on their website and around the park.
This Park although smaller than others such as Chessington World of Adventures, Alton Towers and even Pleasure Wood Hills has so much to offer. I think that one of the main factors that keeps this from being like 'all the other' parks within the area, is, when entering the Park itself you do not have to pay. It is FREE no matter what your age, so if some of the people you are with do not wish to go on the rides, they do not have to spend a penny, but they are still able to watch and enjoy in the day out. The parks policy is you purchase a wrist bands which cover you for the rides in the park. Wrist bands come in different category's which all vary in value Wristbands vary in price from £14 to £19. There are several wrist bands for different times of day and different times of the year, and after 6pm you can buy a half priced wristband. Now there are rides tailored for all the family, from tiny tots, through to teenagers and even the brave Mum's and Dad's, Please note on all the Tiny Tot Rides a person over 14 years old must accompany the child, but all children who fall into this category (under 1.2 meters high) go FREE. There are many rides at the park ranging from roller coasters, to a Big wheel, there are also more specialised ride's like the Elephants. Some of the rides are quiet fast and scary. Please note all rides height restrictions, for your own safety.
Also available at the Adventure park is pay as you play attractions too, these are extra areas where you have to pay a small fee to go on the ride. Some of which include dodgems with a difference as the cars are based on Formula One cars, and standard Dodgems,these are great fun, although make sure you strap in properly. There is also a Crazy Golf course.

There is new pay as you play rides this year, although I am unsure if they are open yet. They include Water Wars (there is sneak peak of a picture on the website) which looks like you would end up wet, but also looks like a lot of fun. Also Southend Rock from what I know it is a giant rock climbing wall, with various foot holes and supports, it looks extremely hard and unsure as to how high it is. I am not sure I would tackle this one. But I am returning in the summer so will soon find out.
There are many place to eat inside the park, places include 'The Wild', and the 'Wild Jungle Jive Café' a themed restaurant and home to the 'Jungle Jive Gang'! They do a range of standard meals like Chicken and Burger's, the food is very nice here a little tip: - Watch out for the wild animals though! - They move! Also there is the Adventure Island Food Bar they do value meals which are prepared and served very fast allowing you and your group not to miss out on any of the fun. This year they have also introduced the new and healthier choice of Wraps, drinks and fruit in the Kids Meal Range. And if you have more of a sweet tooth you can go to the Candy Floss Box, as you can gather from the name this is sweetie heaven, from Candy, Fudge, to Sticks of Rock it's all here.

Personally this is a great place to visit and one of the best value for money Parks I have been to, also don't forget you can make a day out of your visit and see the famous Southend Pier and also mingle amongst the numerous Amusements which line the Promenade. There is a Shopping centre close to the promenade too, and many Bars and Restaurants to choose from. The main other attraction here is the Beach which is always extremely busy when those summer days do come. Why not come along and bring your bucket and spade."
