"Now Im a big fan of playing the part with restaurants like these. Full suit and tie job! - But even I felt underdressed here! Chef Richard Hughes (used to work with Rick Stein on that programme "seafood Odessey". Only been here the once and will certainly be going back - Service was fantastic! Food was superb! Bit pricey but well worth it!
I had to start - Slow roasted tomato tatin - was gorgeous! Chilli ice cream sticks in my mind for some reason - diddnt fancy this, lol. Mini suet pudding of Somerleyton venison with a sauté of caramelised apple & Madeira soaked sultanas was my main - Never had food like this before and it really made a change. The lady I was with had Iced peanut butter parfait & banana marshmallow which looked so well presented, it seemed a shame to ruin the display by eating it hehe. Priced at £35-£50 per person this is a little pricey but the quality is shown form the minute you walk in!. The wine list is not too bad either - Im no wine expert but the staff explained in simple terms and helped pick a fantastic bottle. The Grade II listed 16th century thatched building adds so much to the atmosphere. I can wait to go back!"
