"This is our local Bowling Alley , we go here regularly and also have had two birthday parties here for our children. It is easily accessible as it leads off of the A1306, which leads onto the Retail Park. Some of the other attractions on the Retail Park are 12 screen Vue Cinema, Mc Donald's also Mecca Bingo, there are plenty of other places to eat including speciality Restaurants.
There is ample parking in front of the Bowling Alley with each space being quiet generous, so no bashing other peoples car doors. The front of the building has glass doors with a large sign above so it is easily spotted from the A1306. As you enter the building you have 3 flights of stairs to climb as it is situated on the top floor. Luckily there is a lift to use if you have a buggy/wheelchair or just don't want to climb all them stairs. Although it is quite small and wouldn't fit many people in.
The stairway and foyer of the entrance is all carpeted and looks rather posh. When you get to the top you enter through double doors and that's when the noise hits you. It is very loud and lots of things are going on all at one time. On your left is the restaurant which has sufficient seating area, if you were having a party there is also a room with double doors for privacy to have your food and birthday celebrations in. There is a bar slightly further on which is fully licensed although prices can be a little steep. Just past this in the bar area are two pool tables which are £1 a go. In front of you in the cashier desk and footwear hire, and on your right is a further 3 pool tables and a small arcade. Prices are :- vary between Weekdays/weekend and bank holidays and before 6pm and after 6pm.

You pay at the cashier section this will include shoe hire, then collect your shoes from the other side of the desk. There are 20 lanes with automatic scoring system, so much easier and no cheating. It is Fully Air Conditioned and they also have the bumpers so that when the children play, their bowling ball will not go straight down the gully adults can use this feature to. When you are allocated a lane you have a small table and seating area to rest while you wait your turn. The first thing to do is programme the computer with each person name so that it can keep a record of your scores. Also this is where you programme the bumpers for each person. If you are unable to work this the staff members are more than happy to help. Change into the special shoes that you hired this is to prevent the floors surface from being scratched or marked. The bowling ball travels better along the lane if they are looked after.
Each bowling ball has a different weight so they do lighter ones for children and heavier for adults. Be careful as some have larger finger holes than others. If you are going with young children they have a runway which they can use to bowl. They are metal and look a bit like a slide would, you put the runner in front of your lane where you wish to bowl then place bowling ball at the top of it and the child pushes as hard as they can. The ball travels down the lane with no problem and no feet or hands get hurt in the process.
If you can not wait for your game to finish for food and drinks a member of staff will take your order and they even take your money, they then return with your receipt, change and order. There are toilet facilities at the end of the bowling lanes these are always very clean and tidy.
Scattered around the bowling Alley are Fruit Machines these are only for adults to play, I have played them and have won a few times although I have lost more often. The Arcade is buzzing it has all different types of games my favourite is the dancing game, me and my daughter always have a go on this. To be honest it wears me out but it is great exercise and I can still beat my daughter at it. :0)
This is a great day out and all the staff are helpful and polite.
