Restaurant Locus
Forget the city centre. A 3 minute taxi ride takes you to Boughton and Restaurant Locus. A friend of mine once wrote that its biggest selling point was that it had no gimmicks-and I agree with that, it is an accurate portrayal. Locus bases itself on a simple ethos of providing excellent quality food in a relaxed environment over an unhurried night out. Since opening in September 2002, its modern but cozy ambience has attracted such wide appeal that it has taken the accolades of Chester's best restraint for two years and best chef 2004 at the Chester food and drink festival. Locus is perhaps unusual for Chester with its main features including an intimate bar, lounge and restaurant and a completely non-smoking environment. Serving extensive modern British menus, all their food is cooked to order and therefore only the freshest dishes are produced. The varied menus include the a la carte, served Tuesday-Saturday or a table d'hote option at £11.95 for two courses, available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Every Sunday evening the resident two-piece jazz band play and a varied selection of dishes are served at £12.95 or £14.95 for two or three courses. There is also a small private car park to the rear of the building."
