"Would you believe me? I have snaked on the floor with Kylie. Had tea with the Queen. Met one of my idols; David Beckham. Cosied up with the oh-so charming Prince William. Of course, its only their dummy doubles that I have encountered with, but the pictures tell no indifference! The world famous Madame Tussauds is located in several countries, including London. On my recent adventure to Madame Tussauds I was once again astounded by the high quality of dummy waxworks, which never ceases to amaze me!
If you are a common-as-muck citizen as I, this trip will probably be as close as you will ever get to rubbing shoulders with top celebs. I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to witness the opening of the Big Brother feature in Madame Tussauds, which I enjoyed immensely seeing as I am a hard-core Big Brother fan. I also got to be snapped up with Davina McCall the charismatic and overy bubbly presenter. This is an ultimate experience for a Big Brother fan - in addition you can also get a taste on how it feels like to exit the platform of the BB house! You are live on Channel 4, please do not swear. . .
However, if you are not a reality TV addict, there are plenty more areas to immerse yourself in! If you fancy yourself as the next Rock 'n' Roller, hang out Air Guitar Star section, where you get your own stage to totally rock out! There is even a figure of the brilliant rock showman Justin Hawkins of The Darkness. The Madame Tussauds also provides a rock team who will willingly teach you the most wildest moves; including the scissor jump and twanging that electric guitar!
If you are more familiarised with the A-Listers, there is also an area where you can attend your very own 'A-List Party!' This is my personal favourite area of Madame Tussauds; whats not to like? Squeeze your favourite part of a Hollywood hottie, to the girls - does Brad Pitt do you any favours? There are also many other TV stars such as Michelle Gellar of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, not to forget the moody Samuel L Jackson!
Now you can't wait to get out of your house and to the well-known landmark, you best be informed of how to get there first. Madame Tussauds is situated at Marylebone Road which is very near Baker underground station. And you certainly cant complain of difficulty in accessing the place - you can visit by railway, bus, coach or road.
Madame Tussauds' usual opening hours are:
Weekdays: 9.30 - 17.30
Weekends: 9.00 - 18.00
The pricing are as follows, if you wish to visit Madame Tussauds from 9am - 5pm:
Adult - £21.99
Child - £17.99
Senior - £18.99
Family - £69.00
Times afterwards are signficantly cheaper [off peak times]
Whatsmore, if you are considering splashing out on a birthday bash - why not use Madame Tussauds as a venue? There is a fantastic team who will go to great lengths to organise the best and most suitable party for you. Your hosted party can include a chocolate fountain or even digital paparazzi sniping around! This event will certainly be unique and original, by far outshining any other parties you've ever been to!
The amiable atmostphere of Madame Tussauds doesn't end there - there are many facilities they provide to serve your every needs. This includes a Drinks & Snacks area where you can chill out and dine - whilst being surrounded by World political leaders and royalty! Certainly not a place to discriminate, Madame Tussauds has made it possible for wheelchair users to enjoy their displays. However, it should be noted that they have limited access. Finally, they have a gift shop so that your souvenir will commemorate your special visit! Purchase items to relish your moments in the Chamber of Horrors or majesty of the World Stage. From dining with stars to visiting the set of your favourite TV show, it has it all; sparking, glitz and glamour - whats not to love?"
