"I went here with my mum and little brother last June. I was absolutely amazed and would thoroughly recommend taking the whole family. Every year in June/July this Tudor manor is full of people re-enacting Tudor life, usually around 200 at any one time. As you walk around you can see Tudors getting on with their lives from peasants, to merchants, to the gentry in their fine gowns. What I find so great is that unlike with museums, you can actually picture what Tudor life was like because it is there in front of you, there is a real feel of community as there would have been. The re-enactors talk in 'tudorese' and are always pleased to answer any questions. They treat the visitors well and explain things superbly. Although I loved visiting all the stations, my favourites would have to be the military, the alchemists, the merchants and the archers. The house and grounds are also beautifully kept and a pleasure to walk around.
Aside from the main re-creation in summer, there are also mini events over Easter weekend and Mayday weekend, and at the end of August and September. Kentwell also do World War II re-creations.
