"Last April we stayed at a stunning turreted property overlooking pretty Lynmouth Harbour. It was just a few steps from beach and all the rooms had magnificent sea views. One bedroom had a balcony and we had breakfast overlooking the harbour.
It was fully self-catered with dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Our friends stayed in the Turret Room with a 4-poster, and ensuite slipper bath. We stayed in the Balcony Room with a superking double and ensuite shower room.
Best of all we were able to take our dogs, Tasha and Inca, both german shepherds. We were able to explore the beaches and walk along the river to Watersmeet. There were even doggy bins which always makes life much easier for dog owners! We also walked on Exmoor and Valley of the Rocks. One day we took the dogs to Saunton Sands which was miles and miles of empty beach – fantastic.
Lynmouth bustled with visitors during the day but at night became a quiet, sleepy village. There were two pubs to choose from which both accepted dogs [The Rising Sun and the Village Inn] and we took the funicular railway up to Lynton and then walked back.
More than anything, we could not believe how beautiful England can be."
