Dartford's Town Centre -Dartford, Kent, England South EastRecommendation added: 05/03/2006 19:05 By: yangiet (YSUK rating +47) yangiet has been thanked 3 times for this contribution
"During one of my fieldwork in geography classes, we had to go to Dartford's Town Centre to analyse how it competes with a huge hypermarket like Bluewater [which is situated right beside it]. So how does Dartford's town centre survives? Well, first of all it consists of many specialists shops that you can find practically no where else! There are little shops that will be a gem to some people - such as fabric shops where you can get all your textile's necessities. There's also the pound shops which can prove useful for weekly grocery shopping. Also, Dartford Town centre has many market stalls which sometimes displays special events to attract more visitors. If you are lucky enough to attend to one of these events, you will defintely enjoy the vibe and atmostphere!
However, Dartford Town centre is not only a small marketplace - it has also attempted to modernise the area, with the grand opening of the Priory Centre. Inside the priory centre, there are the comparison shops which you may usually find in the high streets - such as Peacocks etc. Overall, I found that Dartford is great for the groceries and a small shopping spree, but if you want something more high class I suggest you take a trip down Bluewater. Verdict: RECOMMENDED" Was this recommendation useful?
