"WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS DAY OUT IF YOU ARE AFFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
Arriving for a nice weeks holiday in the wonderous Southern Ireland we decided to embark on a trip to Blarney Castle!
We reach the site which i need to add is set in the most stunning of grounds with the most amazing gardens and a nice sunny day is the perfect time to visit (as its all outside!!)
We walked the winding path towards the MASSIVE Castle, and started to walk up the steps to enter, may i add it was very reasonable for the entry to the castle and grounds (just a few euro's each)
We started the climb up the extremly narrow winding stone staircases and felt like we were in the willy wonka and the chocolate factory story where all the rooms were getting smaller and the people were looking like giants!
I was trying to film using my camera as musch as possible to the climb to the top of the castle but it is a difficult task to do, so you really need to be fit and able to make this trip.
as we reached the top of the castle, the reality of how high we were kicked in and to see the Blarney stone in all its glory! As you lye down on your back to kiss it (hanging over the side of the castle looking down at the ground) being held by a very chirpy Irishman, you stare at the ground as if you are about to drop to the floor then its all over before you know it!
It is a great experience that alton Towers couldnt reinact,your souvenier photo of you dangling over the edge of the castle is a great momento of your feat! (and its not that expensive)
then you can enjoy the winding stairs back to the bottom whilst you learn all about the history of the castle as you enter various rooms and watch the view through the holes in the walls as you make your decent back to ground level!
this really is a day not to be missed and i would recomend anyone with enough bravery to try this out!
