"Rat and Parrot recently changed ownership and have made the bar more up market, which is definitely what was needed in Crawley.
The décor is typically British pub / club style, wooden floors with a patterned carpet in other areas, large bar with a gothic feel to it stoked full of every type of spirit you can imagine. Upstairs they have bird cages which I imagine represents the Parrot, and funny enough if you look carefully enough at the skirting boards you can see transfers of Rats on them.
This bar has an upstairs with a glass floor near the gents and another bar (however draught beer needs to be bought downstairs). Below there is a pool table with plenty of space to manoeuvre unlike some places. A smoking and non-smoking area too.
Its pricey compared to some of the bars around but cheap compared to some of the others. Cocktails are two for £5.50 and I would recommend the Tequilla Sunrise, it really hits the spot.
Unfortunately the menu does not have a wide choice but nevertheless the vegetarian options are still delicious, and their fry up is the best of the locals. Definitely worth a look and a vodka martini."
