"Stayed one night with my boyfriend - we had a 4:15am check in the next morning. Arrived around 7pm and went to the cocktail bar then on for dinner in the Oriental restaurant, service and ambience excellent in both. No sign of renovation - maybe they had packed up by that time. The room was nice and clean and wasnt too small.
I have stayed in the Hilton at Gatwick a few times and i would say the Sofitel has much nicer amibience, and more refined than the Hilton.
The only thing i could fault them on was we didnt get our early morning alarm call, however we had set the alarm on TV and on our mobiles so it wasnt too much of a problem. It was a really nice start to our holiday and would definately recommend this hotel."
