"Having been a regular visitor to this lovely family pub I thought I would tell you more about it. It is on the Tetbury road out of Dursley, driving would take about 5mins. It is on the left hand side and has a blue neon light around the outside with parking.
The inside of the pub has not long been refurbished and has a bar area with tables and chairs that you can eat at or a restaurant area nicely done out with various local artists pictures and flowers on the tables.
The landlord of the pub is Dave Akhurst and there is a website for you to browse showing some of the nights entertainments, which is regularly updated.
On a lunchtime they do an O.A.P special and a meal deal consisting of a main and a pudding for £5.95. The O.A.P special is cheaper again.
On a Friday night-Sunday night they do a fabulous Thai menu to eat in or take away. It is all freshly cooked on the premises by Thai cooks and is well worth trying out.
The atmosphere is friendly and they have theme nights, poker nights, trips to the races, fancy dress and karaoke going on. They also do a Christmas menu, New years party, Chinese New Year and Valentines meal. All of which are highly recommended by myself.
They welcome children in at any time and do a varied childrens menu. They are also more tham willing to accomodate with hot water etc to make babies meals and bottles warming.
If you fancy something that is not on the menu they will try to see if they have it available to cook you and if not they will get it in for you the next time you go.
I do not know of many pubs that accomodate the family so well and has such a varied amount of entertainment and value for money so I will just have to remain a very loyal customer.
I know that every Friday, when I take my 11 month old son there for lunch I can be assured of a friendly face, my son always gets attention and we are always asked if the meals were ok.My son has been going there with me since being only 2 weeks old so they know him and enjoy playing with him. On busy times he is even passed among the regulars and Landlord for fuss. How many pubs do you know that would allow your child to crawl around the bar and pool table without a fuss.
What more can I say but well done to such a great pub and landlord and may we have many drinking and eating hours together."
