"Recently I had difficulty in finding accommodation for my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary, however after searching on the internet for some time, I came across Graythwaite Holidays in the Lake district. The accommodation is situated on Graythwaite Hall estate and comprises of a number of properties varying to accommodate different size parties from 2 -10. On site is a gymnasium and pool for use by persons on site only. The property in which we stayed was to accommodate 10 people as all others were booked. The Manager was very helpful and although the property was for ten people he allowed us to have it.
Within the property was an open plan lounge and kitchen. The lounge had an open fireplace with wood burning stove. There were five bedrooms, two double and three single. One bedroom had an ensuite bathtoom. There were another two bathrooms, one with shower over bath and the other a walk in shower. The swimming pool although small is good for families and was situated about a five second walk from our door.
On site were lovely walks into the countryside, enabling to see country life in the full, with Grouse, Woodpeckers, Field mice and Deer.
Graythwaite Hall Estate is situated in open Countryside and a lovely retreat for anyone. A car is needed, but the distance from door to local areas isn't far and the lake is only about a mile away. Nearby is Hawkshead and Coniston with Windermere about 10 miles away. There is a railway station about 5 minutes drive away near the Lake Side Hotel, where you can also get a boat to Windermere and Ambleside.
In all I would recommend this type of holiday to anyone interested in walking or to go somewhere for a special occasion and would definitely visit again."
