"Newmarket is, and deserves to be, the place that gets mentioned in the same breath as horse racing. Newmarket Racecourse is the home of horse racing in the UK and has good reasons to be.
After recently visiting a race night at Newmarket, i can recommend it to anyone. After stepping into the grounds i had a smile on my face, as the atmosphere instantly draws you in.
The grounds contain many places where food and drink can be bought, from Chinese noodles to bangers and mash, almost any food can be found here.
Then the racing starts, normally a race every half hour ranging from 6 horses to 15 horses. There are also plenty of betting stands all around which give you up to date odds on all horses. Even if your not the betting type of person its always fun to pick a horse on just its name and see if it wins.
Now when the races stop more fun happens. most of the time a band of artist plays after the races. this can range from boyzone to UB40 to Madness. this helps to round of the evening very nicely, as even if you didnt win any money you can just relax and listen to a great band/artist."
