A nice beach walkSizewell, Suffolk, England East Of EnglandRecommendation added: 02/07/2008 22:46 By: ceejay (YSUK rating 0) ceejay has been thanked 0 times for this contribution
"If you're anywhere near the Suffolk coast on a nice day, don't bother heading for the too busy towns of Aldeburgh or Southwold, but instead aim between the two and visit Sizewell beach.
It may not have much there to spend your money on, but for a stroll on the beach on a sunny summer's day (or even a bracing winter's one!) it's hard to beat. Plenty of wildlife is around, with many types of seabird easily spotted, and there's quite a variety of beach vegetation as well. Add in the slightly surreal sight of the dome of the nuclear power station looming over you, and it's quite a different way to spend an hour or two. And to finish off, what better than a good pub meal in the Vulcan Arms (you can't miss it, it's on the road through the village). An odd name, conjuring up thoughts of Star Trek, but a lovely village pub with good food and fine ales." Was this recommendation useful?
