"The Edinburgh is a very traditional pub right in the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea. Not far from the Buttlands and only a short walk from the quay, the Edinburgh is situated right next to the bank where High Street and Staithe Street join.
While there's plenty on offer from the bar, including a range of guest ales and a variety of lagers, ciders and, of course, guinness on tap, the Edinburgh also houses Ollie's Restaurant, a mid-price restaurant with a variety of home-cooked, traditional foods as well as more daring, mediterranean-style dishes. Expect to pay around ten pounds for a main course, and be aware that you may get a little more than you pay for - the food is really good here.
In addition to the usual stuff, the Edinburgh pub quiz takes place on a Tuesday night from 9:00 - a very light-hearted affair with only eighteen quick questions, all beginning with the same letter. Happy hour is Thursday lunchtimes.
While the Edinburgh is the only pub in Wells to receive a twenty-four hour licence, the landlord rarely uses it unless live music is playing, at which time the bar may remain open for an extra hour or so beyond eleven o'clock."
