"Frankie and Benny's has always had a good reputation around in my circle of friends, mainly because a few of them go every week without fail and love it!! So when I was at Birmingham airport, me and my fiancé decided to give it a go and have breakfast there. Then with my friends I went for tea at the weekend and found both times fantastic and hopefully I will get over to you why.
Ok so you can find Frankie and Benny's everywhere but the one I am going to review is the second one I went to and the address is as follows:
Frankie and Benny's
Uttoxeter
ST14 8ER
Frankie and Benny's always seem to be in good locations and this one in Uttoxeter is very accessible by taxi, walking or public transport if you live nearby and by car as there is a huge car park there. It is on a kind of shopping park with Tesco, a bowling / cinema and several other shops.
You can always tell when you get there too as there is a massive neon sign with the name. The restaurant is classed as a New York and Italian diner which gives you a small idea on what to expect.
So the building looks from a different era and basically very New York. You walk in and the decorations are fantastic with fabulous pictures everywhere, the tables and chairs make it look kind of like a diner not a restaurant and everywhere has very vivid colours which are all quite happy looking which is good.
So everywhere looks nice and staff are there right at the door to take you to your table and always give you an estimated waiting time if you do have to wait for any reason as it can get quite busy. The bar area you can wait in is quite big and has a great stock so you can get soft drinks, hot drinks and loads of cocktails.
The food is fabulous and you can choose from salads for the healthy, then to pizzas, steaks and burgers and anything else on the menu seems like it has come straight from New York. The food costs range from about £5 – 6 for a salad and then some of the steaks are about £12 so they have quite a good range and the menus are fabulous with so much to choose from.
There are quite a good few vegetarian dishes too so you don't have to worry about that if you don't like meat.
The drinks are around £2 each for a soft drink and range to up to £5 for a cocktail but believe me they are worth the money you then can get puddings which are around £4 each and I had the carrot cake which was delicious.
Everybody is pleasant and the music is quite loud but it is that kind of place. Everybody seems to have fun when they are there and there was a children's party when we went and they were having a great time.
I think Frankie and Benny's is all about having fun so only go if you want quite a mad and in a way energetic experience. A fantastic place and the food is absolutely cooked and presented to perfection which is brilliant.
A taste of America in England which is ace!! I recommend to everybody.
