"I was really struggling for something to do to entertain my 1 year old on a wet windy day and all the soft play in Leeds seemed to be closed and it was far too cold and wet to visit the park or the farm. Bored and skint just driving around I spotted Pet and Aquatic world. I thought to a 1 year old it will just be like a mini zoo and best of all it wont cost a penny. I'm not a huge animals fan myself but my son is really taking an interest in all things furry and can now point at a dog and say dog so I though I'd have nothing to lose letting him loose in a pet store as he is far to young to start asking for a dog or any other pet for that matter.
When you walk in its like a supermarket for animals. It appears to stock everything for foods to storage contains as well as pet toys. I'm sure it would be the perfect place to go Christmas shopping for pets.
Further into the store is the animal section. There were tonnes of birds flying around in cages and one of them even kept saying hiya which I found amusing. I was so taking back by two really cute monkeys which were not for sale but display my son fell down the two stair next to me as I wasn't paying attention to him. He was fine and wondered off to look at some mice. There were all kinds of animals and many were a perfect heights for toddlers to look at, the rabbits seem very sweet hopping around and all the animals seemed clean and healthy. I quickly skipped through the Reptiles section as I'm quite fearful of snakes although their was lots to see if your not a big scaredy cat like me.
Downstairs is where all the fish are kept and many were beautiful bright colours and funny shapes it was really interesting to watch them. My son was fascinated by the fish. I've had fish in the pass but no longer want the hassle of cleaning them out for no fear of me buying anything. The hardest part is ensuring your kids don't bang on the cages and tanks and scare the animals.
There were plently of staff around who i'm sure would be able to help if you were wanting to buy a pet and give advice of feeding ect.
It easy to find just follow the signs to Armley and its on the main road running though it huge so wont be difficult to spot. Parking is available around the back of the store
