"Pelsall is an idyllic little village in the heart of the West Midlands just a couple of miles north of Walsall. It is home to several thousand people and is widely known for its greenery. With a large area of commons and ponds it is a fine place and has much wildlife including ducks, geese and swans.

Pelsall Village is very small and has a very limited amount of shops, many independently run such as florists, sweets shops and craft shops. There is a garage, Spar, two fish and chip shops, two Chinese take-aways and a couple of convenience stores.

Pelsall is widely known for its fingerpost which is the gateway to many places in the West Midlands. One road taking you into Brownhills, the other Cannock, another into Walsall and the last into Bloxwich. So from Pelsall you really can get to many places in the West Midlands.

The actual village is very sweet and has not been changed into a modern area but remains its right to be a small, caring community who want the place to be the best it can be. With a green common in between the shops with plenty of trees it really does strike a perfect picture of a lovely place to live. The village is always kept clean as there are bins around and people always clean up after themselves, and their pets!

Residential

The houses in Pelsall are all well kept with a few roads leading the way with big houses, well kept gardens and genuine people. The few estates that are in Pelsall are filled with houses that were probably built to accommodate a lot of people so some are not as striking as some, but most are kept quite well. To purchase a house in Pelsall you would be looking in the region of £200,000 on average.

Education

Pelsall has quite a few schools in the borough, making it easy for a child to get a place in education. There is St Michaels, St Francis and Ryders Hayes which all make up for the primary schools. However there is not a secondary school in the actual vicinity of Pelsall, however Shelfield Sports and Community College is literally a ten minute walk from Pelsall in Shelfield.

Religion
Pelsall is primarily a Christian village with four churches including St Michael's Church, Pelsall Methodist Church, Pelsall Evangelical Church and the Old Burial Ground.

Crime
Pelsall has a very low crime rate and with Policemen and women making daily walks and visits into Pelsall, hopefully it will remain that way. Pelsall also has a committee called the Friends of Pelsall Common who meet once a month to discuss various topics about Pelsall, including crime and the general well being of the village. This committee has helped in making crime so low by bringing in more police to make nightly drives through Pelsall to ensure nothing wrong occurs.

Annual Events
The Carnival is an event which happens about twice a year, this is when there are rides and stalls for everyone to come and have a night of entertainment.
There is also the float competition which occurs every July. This is when local schools and committees dress a float to a theme and ride in it around Pelsall and surrounding areas. One is then selected which wins the competition. The floats are also accompanied by a parade which sees bands and dances following the floats to provide entertainment.

There is also the car boot sale on the common which occurs at the same time as the floats. This is a place where you can get a good bargain, however there is also donkey rides, a bouncy castle and other activities for the kids.

Overall Pelsall is an extremely lovely place to live which is home to many caring people who are proud of the place they live in. With the commons which make the whole village look green and fresh in the summer to the autumn when everything turns beautiful colours, Pelsall is certainly a lovely place to live. The greenery, the events and the overall caring community make Pelsall what it is today."
