"We went for a summers day out at Alton Towers. You're instantly put into the mood by lovely out music on the mono rail that takes you to the main entrance. Once in the park it wasn't too busy. ive heard of people having to wait so long for rides but not us. Whether this is a general thing now or we were just lucky, we never waited more than 15 mins for a ride.
Some of the rides are fantastic. Theres a great selection for all ages. Oblivion - Nemesis being my fave by far.
They operate a clever Parent swap system to save queuing time. Take the kids over to story book land. There's a lovely feel about the place. Some lovely rides, the only problem you'll find is pulling them away & back to my fav - Nemesis.
One thing I'll say that sets Alton Towers apart is the atmosphere they set in the park. It's all so nicely done. My friends have just returned and it's currently the halloween theme. They said its wonderful.
One tip for you if youre one of those that loves to get on loads of rides, get there as early as possible and hammer them. The crowds mostly get them late morning onwards.
