"Diggle canal walk is one of the most tranquil and scenic walks you can go on. Trains run parallel with the canal. The walk is well signposted and you can easy navigate your way around. Aswell as this there is a cafe on your travels, numerous parks, and derelict factories. There is footbridges across railways many fishing resorts its fantastic.
Diggle can be located across the saddle worth moor then you head across to Oldham and its signposted down into Diggle. Follow the road down if your travelling from the top of Oldham then turn up left on the first valid turning you come to which leads to a small car park which can be located on your right so make sure you look out for it as its only small. From the car park this is the beginning of your walk. There is a Diggle pub if you walk left from the car park walking upwards following the road, perfect after a tiresome walk.
However, be warned this is no ordinary walk the Diggle tunnel which leads through to Marsden is the highest, and longest tunnel in Britain. There is information on it and I'm sure you will be very interested in reading about it. A perfect way to pass a long period of your day if you're stuck for things to do."
