"If you like beautiful sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, fresh pinewoods and pure relaxation Wells-next-the-sea and a caravan in Pinewoods Holiday Park is the place to be. I have been going to Wells since I was a small child as my grandmother used to own a caravan there. I have so many memories of this place and they will never leave me. Obviously, the park and caravans have changed in many ways over the years. You can hire a caravan now with all mod cons including huge decked verandas, full bathrooms, central heating, double glazing etc the list goes on. If you have kids there is a large boating lake on the site where you can hire rowing boats and canoes, there is also a pitch n put, trampolines and bicycle hire. Pinewoods has a supermarket, main office, and a take away on site. If you dont want to drive or walk into town there is a minature steam railway which runs from the site to the town (I think, in the summer, the last train leaves town at about 23.00). If the weather is good there is something to do for the whole family, just be careful if the sun is out as it can be windy too and thats when you are at risk of sun stroke (been there done that). The area is well know for bird watching (the feathered kind) and the pinewoods are flowing with wildlife including rabbits and deer). There are a few amusement arcades, Celias bingo (shes been calling the bingo there since I was a kid), some pubs and lots of little shops. The town is so pretty, it has retained all of its charachter and beauty, hardly anything has changed. Children still sit on the quayside crabbing and the harbour is still a live fishing port. Gone are the days where we used to have to get fresh drinking water from taps scattered over the site, a bucket for the loo in the night (as the carvans werent plumbed in then), en-block public showers/toilets, boil the kettle for hot water and lighting the calor gas light with a match (they didnt have electricity then either!!!! Try it, as I say if you like sandy beaches, walks in the woods, amusements in the evenings, good quality modern caravans then you cant go wrong!"
