"Possibly one of the best theme parks in the UK with an enormous amount of land to keep you exploring and on your feet.
The Rides
Drayton Manor stores thrilling rides such as shockwave which is one of the only stand up roller coasters in a theme park to date. Other rides such as Apocalypse which the world's first tower drop and rated “Britain's scariest ride” by the Sunday times, G-force and Pandemonium keep you screaming and the experience is just amazing. Maelstrom which opened a few years ago has lived up to the expectations providing you with a feeling that gravity does not exist.
There are many more thrilling rides for the adults and teenagers but there are also rides for toddlers and little children who want to make most of their ticket price. Rides for them include the crazy bus, frog hopper, vintage cars plus many more including flying jumbos!!
Not forgetting the seniors there is a zoo with monkeys and animals that will surely entertain them. There are also rides such as splash canyon which not only is a water ride but a slow one travelled by the waves of the water so you get a little wet but it is a relaxing ride where all ages are able to enter but some toddlers may need an adult though. There are even the cable cars which are aerial cars that will give you a tour of the park when you sit down on them.
Some water rides are Stormforce 10 which is a water ride with three drops including a backward drop and splash canyon which is a slow water ride travelled by waves.
As you can see it has fun for the whole family with rides for little children to a zoo for the seniors who want to have fun of their own.
There are even showing times for shows such as the African Acrobats which my son enjoyed and I was amazed at.
This park certainly keeps family in mind showing that even toddlers can have fun on rides. My son's 12th birthday was truly a great one as not only did he thoroughly enjoy it but I did too. The ranges of rides are truly a welcome in any theme park and when it has enough variety it becomes a family theme park which this is.
The park provided thrills for my son who sat on Stormforce 10 and rides such as the buffalo coaster and the Sombrero. We thought we would sit on as many rides as possible and surprisingly we had a lot of laughs and fun when we sat on the splash canyon.
Approaching the gates you will be charged about £20.95 for an adult and 16.95 for a child. Unlike other theme parks, queues for the tickets are not too overcrowded thanks to the number of admission kiosks. The prices for the tickets are reasonable compared to £32 for an adult and £24 for a child in Alton towers and Thorpe Park. Booking online at Drayton manor can be very easy and would save you your hard-earned money.
With Drayton Manor being opened from the 24th of March to the 28th of October you have plenty of time to make a visit and even go more than once.
There are many food spots in this park that we enjoyed as there are ice creams, doughnuts, drinks plus a lot more but I have to say the chips were the best. My family loved the chips so much we normally order about ten large chips and we are a family of four!!
The fun does not end there though because there are amusements where you can gamble to see if you can get your ticket prices back. With games such as roulette, slot machines and arcade games you will have fun with the family or by yourself.
To add to the recommendation there is a new ride for 2007 which is The Bounty which is pretty much a pirate ship for adults but on water.
When you think you have seen everything you are given a map with crazy golf on it which my kid was desperate to play and it is definitely worth the extra few pounds.
The only problem I found with the park was that they open at about 10am and close at 5pm or 6pm depending on the time of the season and even if you go on all the rides before closing time there is a high chance you want to stay for longer because you didn't make one of the shows and comparing the closing time with Thorpe park which is 8pm I think the park closes a little too early.
All in all a must visit and one you will definitely not regret as there is just so much to do for so many people. A place where everyone feels at home.
I would rate the park 8.5/10 because in my opinion the park closes a bit too early and you can not fit everything you want to do in one visit without sacrificing something else."
