"Cromer recently celebrated 100 years of Cromer Pier, and received some sort of award into the bargain. It's easy to see why. It's quite a trek down from the top of the cliff where the main part of Cromer lies, but then you have the pier slap bang in the middle of the sea front, with the old lifeboat house further down the coast and the lovely Cromer sands up in the other direction, along with an amusement arcade or two.
The pier itself is great to walk along, particularly if you don't mind looking down and seeing the sea through the tiny gaps in the planks, and there's a theatre, ice-cream stall and plenty of seats where you can watch the sea.
We go there regularly - it's a nice way to spend an hour or so and certainly something to see if you're in or near Cromer."
