"Well this place was a surprise, we hadn't live long in Lanarkshire when we found this place money was tight after buying a new house and car so we were looking for things to do that wouldn't break the bank after spending a long time searching the net for things to do I came across this place and thought I would give it a try not expecting a whole lot as after all there is no admittance charge well boy was I wrong when we arrived we decided to start with the nature trails where we walked along the stream past the BBQ area up into the hills through all the trees it was so lovely the kids were able to run free and enjoy them self's, after about 2 hours of walking we stopped of in a big field and lay out a picnic blanket under a tree and had lunch after we played Frisbee and catch with the children while other people played catch with there dogs. After a long relaxing lunch we walked up the other end of the park and went into the children's zoo which had a small but lovely selection of animals, then into the conservatory where they have a large range of plants and flowers from around the world as well as snakes, fish and a few little monkeys.
During all the holidays they have treasure hunt type activates for the children to take part in, the last one we did with the children was the Easter one where they were given a selection of clues and they had to follow them to parts of the conservatory or zoo and in each part there was a Nome with a coloured hat on and they had to make a not of what the colour was for each Nome and then winners were selected and they won Easter eggs, either of mine won but they neither of the cared as they had so much fun taking part in the hunt. Now we tend to take the kids there at least once every other week."
