"The Garden House is one of those restaurants which you save for a special occasion - as it is expensive for a pub restaurant - but by gum its worth it. It is situated on the main road into Birmingham in Edgbaston.
This olde worlde venue has a delightful traditional appearance with exposed beams, three fireplaces, nooks, crannies and candles on the tables in the evening. This all adds to the relaxed ambience. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs they employ high quality Chefs who delight in finding new and delicious menu choices. The food can be chosen from a main menu or the daily Specials from the chalk boards positioned aroun the main seating areas. All meals appear to be cooked to order (one of the downsides of this is that there can be a substantional waiting time). To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines or real ales and other drinks are available at the bar.
During the day they are a very popular venue for business people and passers by in the area and have a seperate menu for luchtimes - comprimising of 'light bites' and snax.
According to their advertising they always have 6 Guest Ales available and are cask Marque accredited for their quality real ales.
Menu prices vary - starters start at around £3.50 with main courses coming in at around £10. Wine starts at £11ish a bottle.
There are spacious gardens towards the back of the venue which are ideal for lazy (drunken) summer afternoons - and the roaring fires inside make it perfect for snowy winter days.
Service times for food are Monday - Saturday 11am - 10pm. Sunday 12noon - 9.30pm. usual pub hours apply for the bar facilities.
