"This is an amzing place! If you are visiting Northern Ireland with children you MUST give this place a visit. It is set in the Belfast Odyssey which is also home to restaurants like Pizza Hut as well as chinese, american and mexican food. There is an imax cinema and bowling alley too!
W5 is educational but so much fun that kids don't realise they are being educated!
From the very start it is easily laid out with loads of space and lifts which was great for us with a buggy. And kids are actually encouraged to run wild, explore and touch things! Surely this is every family's dream day out!
There are 4 main exhibit areas. The first is GO which includes a tug of war machine, lift your own weight, examine your heart rate, magnets, space and building remote control cars. SEE has a lie detector, futuristic musical instruments with a harp that appears to have no strings but is actually electronic! Making music with light was also great in this section. START is every kids dream. My son loved the real Mini car which he was allowed to climb all over! Water fun, a mini tesco, castle, musical instruments, a stage for performers, little house area and huge train set. My kids could spend all day in this section alone! DO is all about weather, and building things which was more educational but still fun.
W5 is open 7 days a week, Mon to Sat from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm. Adults are £6.50 and kids £4.50 but we only paid £19 for a 2adult,2 child all day pass. With this we could leave W5 and visit other parts of the Odyssey and get back in again later. This well worth the money and will keep the kids (and adults) entertained for a full day easily!"
