"I am a huge fan of eating out which every single person who knows me will agree with. One of my favourite places to go in the whole of the world is based right in the West Midlands and it is called Pastiche bistro in Lichfield. I have been going now for over four years and it is one of those places that I could literally go to all of the time as it is that good and different. Everybody I know I tell them to go and everybody agrees with me that it is amazing here. I will attempt to tell you why it is that brilliant right here in this review.

What is Pastiche?
Pastiche is a bistro chain and although here I will be describing the one located in Lichfield there are others dotted around the West Midlands that you can go to. The actual restaurant is not like any other and the prices are cheap and you get good food but because it is a bistro you do not get as much in the meals as you would elsewhere. When you go you do pay for a three course meal so make sure you are hungry.
The other shining point that Pastiche has against a lot of other places is that the menu changes every single month so there is always something new to try. All three courses have a varied choice and there are a lot for vegetarians which I always like and then always a fish dish and meat dishes so there is actually something for everybody all of the time.

Location:
The Lichfield bistro is in a great location which is right in the middle of Lichfield city centre. Parking is not an issue as there are lots of places within the city and as it is open all day for lunch and dinner you can go shopping before or after eating.
-----
Appearance:
From outside all you can really see is a small purple door that you walk through and there is a sign saying Pastiche but it is not really apparent unless you are looking for it. When you get inside you come across a view of the kitchen and also where you pay for your food. Somebody will always be there to make sure you get a table and if you are sitting downstairs then you will be on wooden seats which are quiet standard but if you are upstairs I like it better.
Upstairs it is kind of a gothic feel with benches for some of the seats and there are beams everywhere and you get the feeling you have stepped into a really old building. From outside you do not see any of this as it looks quite modern but it really isn't. the toilets are downstairs and if I am being honest they do cram quite a lot of people into the restaurant so it is always a very lively atmosphere in there which I like.

Prices:
The prices are standard every month so I will let you know now. If you go for lunch then a three course meal costs £5.95. For extras such as chips and vegetables they are £2 each. Drinks are not included and these are sold at a price you would expect to pay anywhere so £1.50 for a soft drink say. if you go for an evening meal you are paying £10.95 for the three course meal but you do get more choice on the menu and slightly more food.

Food:
The food is superb here and you can really tell that they focus on making it pleasant to look at and extremely delicious to eat. It is impossible to let you know what is always on the menu as it is constantly changing but I will give you a little taster of what I had last time I was there. For starters I had pate on toast which was gorgeous and you get a nice salad with it to. Just enough to whet your appetite but not enough to fill you up.
For a main I had a goat's cheese spring roll with a nice salsa dressing which was so filling that I didn't even feel the need to have any chips or potatoes with it. It was delicious and it had a salad with it that was divine. For dessert I had a toasted waffle with nuts, ice-cream and chocolate sauce and I tell you I could have eaten three of them they were that nice. I felt a bit sick afterwards but it was gorgeous.
These are the kind of things you can get but you should check the website before going to see what is there this month.

Staff:
The staff at Lichfield are fabulous and when you become a regular like me you do recognise them every time you go in. they are always on hand to help with anything you may need and I have tested them with their food knowledge before and they have never let me down.

Verdict:
The Lichfield Pastiche bistro is superb and you are guaranteed good food in a great atmosphere every time you visit. With the menu constantly changing it gives you an excuse to visit all of the time and the price for three courses is great considering the amount of food you get and the great quality of it. This is one place that when you go there to eat you do feel like you have had a special night out.
I am going to give Pastiche Lichfield top marks for making me want to go back again and again.
