"I know several people that use the Autumn Centre now, including my Grandparents, and feel it's well deserving of a recommendation. There's far more going on there than most people realise.
Run by volunteers, The Autumn Centre is aimed at over 50's. They are open five days a week from 9.00am to 2.30pm.
Working with Age Concern, the centre offers a variety
of activities free of charge. Including:
Arts and crafts
Armchair aerobics
Cards
Trips
Healthy living
Bingo
Line dancing
The Get Set Go Club
Beautician
They also have their own unisex hairdressing salon open five days a week from 9.30am, where the over 50's can have a perm, colour, cut and blow dry, etc. at affordable prices.
The Coffee Shop is open daily from 9.00am until 11.30am and the restaurant serves three course lunches at 12:15pm which consist of soup, main course and dessert, and you can have any combination you like.
Meals are freshly prepared daily. There is no need to prebook, but they need to know by 11.30am on the day.
Less well known is the fact that The Autumn Centre is also home to The Pram Brigade who meet 3 days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm.
They also provide a base for the some summer playscheme activities in the Summer holidays.
The Autumn Centre is a lovely safe place which feels clean and inviting. Take your Gran along this lunchtime!
