"This is a recreated Victorian high street made in an old cinema, displaying what shops and service stores looked like. All the displays are real and the whole project was started a one man in 1986; when he went out and to his wifes amazement came home with a 27 ton steam train. Which can be seen in this museum. (on the 1st floor of all places). The bit if this museum which amazed me the most was the Victorian denist, we would all cringe if we had to have treatment now in those kind of conditions. Also they have a prison cell with a man (John Lee). Who is said to have murdered his boss in 1885, but managed to escape being hanged 3 times. After all of this you can visit the Victorian pub (but sorry guys no drinks are being served they are for display purposes only), or how about trying your luck at the Victorian penny machines useing real old pennies to operate. But dont panic if you havent got any laying around you can change them up while you are there, travelling forward in time you can see what life was like in the trenches during world war one and examine the large collection of war memorbilia. This attraction is both eye opening and educational."
